This role is with an International Business Process Outsourcing Company that is experiencing excellent growth. Their core business includes Campaign Management and Delivery, Procurement, Print Management, Packaging, POSM, IT & Promotional and Visual Merchandise and Digital Marketing Services. This impressive business is able to meet the requirements of major brands with large marketing spend, which results in an incredible client portfolio. The company is seeking a Senior Category Manager to join their local leadership team. They have really over-delivered and over-achieved on the sales and business development side, so they need to ensure the supply chain is set up to cope with this growth effectively and efficiently.
As Senior Category Manager , you will head up the responsibility for the strategic sourcing and supplier and category management of various solutions (but mainly marketing materials like POSM, print and Promotional and Visual Merchandise.). You will work to consolidate spend within an existing (mainly European) vendor base, but also see how this base can be expanded. You will work hand in hand with local and international suppliers to drive and deliver continuous improvement in terms of cost reduction and innovation. This includes taking the lead in re-thinking processes as required, to achieve the desired goals and infrastructure. The Senior Category Manager will lead in tenders and negotiations and offer the stakeholders the correct level of expertise, to discuss win-win situations and making things happen. It will be key to be up to date on best practice and trends in the industry and to create an understanding of the company’s current situation quickly.
The Required Skills and Experience
To be successful as the Senior Category Manager – you will need extensive knowledge in supply chain management, strategy and procurement (ideally within marketing or technology services –think Campaign Management and Delivery, Promotional and Visual Merchandise , Procurement, Print Management, Packaging, POSM, IT & Digital Marketing services etc). You will have strong stakeholder and supplier management experience and skills (both internal and external) and be a skilled communicator with superb influencing and negotiation skills. Leadership is key to this role especially in terms of dotted lines and process improvements. The Senior Category Manager needs sector experience and fluent English as it’s an international company with offices in over 50 locations globally. Most importantly, is a positive can-do attitude and someone who is passionate about taking ownership and leadership in existing situations.
