The Opportunity

The Production Director is responsible for the planning and execution of all aspects of Production. This role has a very strong focus on quality, on-time delivery, efficiency, utilisation, agility, customer satisfaction, profitability, employee engagement and production excellence. As the Production Director, you will fulfil a key role in one of the largest packaging and pre-press companies in the world.

Key Responsibilities

The Production Director will lead various production functions (on-site and virtual), primarily related to production art and pre-press. This role will also work in close collaboration with customer service, quality control, design, automation and IT Departments. You will drive a performance driven culture with a major focus on quality, on-time delivery, efficiency, utilisation, agility, customer satisfaction, profitability, employee engagement and production excellence. With this role being based in Mauritius, you will be responsible for the growth of the business in multiple regions.

The Production Director will be accountable for meeting all annual, quarterly and monthly targets related to financial, operational and cultural KPIs. You will also foster strong, collaborative relationships with external customers and internal partners to ensure strategic alignment and achievement of shared goals, while leading organic growth initiatives, stemming primarily from internal customers (offshoring), recruitment and employee productivity.

Further expected capabilities include,

  1. Manage capacity planning to ensure the company consistently matches supply and demand.
  2. Optimize production agility, by fostering the ability to level production loads across accounts (including a major emphasis on cross-training).
  3. Develop and implement strategies, structures, policies, processes and change management that enables successful and sustainable performance for the company’s goals.
  4. Drive continuous improvement with a high emphasis on automation. The Production Director will partner with other production leaders across the globe for synergies and best practices.

Requirements

You must have managerial experience in packaging (or a related industry), with a proven skill set to lead a large-scale team, out of which, 10 years should be in a leadership role. The Production Director must have strong knowledge in artwork pre-press, printing and graphics related operations, as well as fluent in related technologies. You will be an expert in production management, with a strong knowledge of lean manufacturing. You will also be an excellent problem solver who is comfortable using data to drive changes. You need to be self-motivated, energetic and reliable and have best in class interpersonal skills. The Production Director will also be comfortable dealing with senior client relationships.

The Offering

This fantastic role will offer the right candidate, a salary of €100,000 to €110,000 plus bonus. With the location being Mauritius, there is also the possibility of putting together a bespoke relocation package.
